What is Public Policy?

Select a current example of a policy issue that has arisen under the umbrella of civil rights.  Think broadly about all areas of policy when picking your topic (defense and international security, criminal justice, social justice, health, education, etc).  Then present the following:

(1) Describe the issue briefly, including identifying specific constitutional protections and summarizing key policy changes over its history.

(2) What role have interest groups and the mass media played in keeping this issue on the policy agenda?

(3) Have individual rights eroded or been strengthened related to this specific policy?

You are also expected to incorporate terms and concepts from the assigned readings.  

Must be at least 200 words supported by at least one reference
