Week 5 Discussion: Gender Issues and Virtue ethics

Option B:

“Men and women have different thought processes and require different approaches in life.”

B1: “Modern education systems are geared to educating females rather than males.”

Discussion:

Using your reading in this course so far and other research, discuss the ethical concepts referred to in this statement.

The second raises the question: "Are men and women significantly enough different that we need to treat them separately?" Note that this is a gender issue not a race issue. In the past race has been misused to make a similar argument. However, just because it is incorrect to use race as a basis for different treatment does that mean that gender also cannot be used as a basis for different treatment?
