Instructions

As you did last week, review the library’s help with searching. Locate five published articles that used experiments as the research method in one or more areas you are interested in researching. All five examples can be from the same area of interest, such as bullying in classrooms, or from different areas. For each study, report on the following:

Report the full reference in APA style

Document the aim of each study.

Explain what the independent variables were.

Explain what the dependent variables were.

Report the sample size.

Explain why the authors chose to use the experimental approach. If the authors did not justify their use of the experiment, give your reasons why the authors chose that method.

Determine the results of each study. You do not have to report the specific statistics, indicate whether there was a significant difference. If you are struggling reading the actual statistics and explanations next to the statistics, read the first few lines of the discussion and/or the abstract; these will indicate what the study found. The aim here is to make sure you understand what the study found.

Add your personal comments concerning whether you believe this was a good experiment or not. Be sure to offer a rationale to support your views of the study.

Support your assignment with your five selected resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
