Week 2 Discussion - Tinker Case
Week 2 Discussion - Tinker Case
After completing this week's readings, access the link below and read "Tinker v. Des Moines Independent School District."
As you look at the Tinker case, you will note that one of the dissenting judges (Hugo Black) argued that the "time had come when pupils of state-supported schools...can defy and flout orders of school officials"
- In your opinion, is this case more about Freedom of Expression, or were students allowed to defy the principal's rule? Give the reason behind your opinion.
Your initial responses are due by 11:55 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday and should be between 200-250 words. The initial posting should be a statement of your point of view on the question, supported by the required readings.
