Victimology 4

  

Locate a news story about a victimization incident and identify the consequences for the primary and secondary victims of the crime. This must include a definition and description of the crime type (homicide, assault, robbery, sexual assault, etc.).

Next, explain the various financial costs that resulted from the victimization incident (i.e., medical care, mental health care, and lost wages), even if that is only to say that your hypothetical victimization did not create that cost. Explain how the victimization is responsible (or not) for those costs.

Finally, explain how the physical injury that your victim endured affects their life. If they did not experience injury, then explain how their life would have been different if they had.

The purpose of the assignment is to consider the impact of victimization costs in a real-world situation.
