Unit VII Case Study 

Consider the following scenario and develop a communication plan. The plan should include at least two methods of communication (e.g., press conference, newspaper article, website posting, social media use), as well as a description of why the method of risk communication from the chapter was chosen. 

You are the chief operating officer for the local EMS system. While privately based, this system is contracted by the City of Smithville to provide EMS services to its citizens. A QA/QI review of the last three months of calls has found that there is an increase in the number of alcohol/drug overdoses in teenagers and the concern is that this will become an increased burden on the ability to run calls. The belief of the city leadership and the executive management of the organization is that a series of communications with the public may help decrease these types of calls.
