The Regulatory Environment

While the majority of executive leaders are likely to have an entire human resource department, a well-prepared nurse leader will have more than passing knowledge of the multitude of federal, state, and local regulations. 

A good resource for nurse leaders for all things regulatory is the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Under the Resources tab, review the Resources and Compliance section. Under the Employment Law section sign up for the free newsletter as a leadership resource.

Elaborate on one of the regulatory aspects (FMLA, Sexual Harassment, ADA, OSHA, Corporate compliance) covered in the text.
