The Goal of Management Accounting: Wealth Creation Through Production

The problem with successful operations is that they can separate us from God; the temptation is to believe that our success is a result of our own power and intellect.

Read Deuteronomy 8:17-20: “For it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth” (NIV).

Do we live by our own strength and trust in our bank accountants, or do we trust in God? Second Samuel 24 recounts how King David counted the fighting men. God considered this a great trespass because it did not reflect complete trust and dependence upon Him. In this context, accounting once was considered an evil activity.  How do we overcome the temptation to totally and completely trust our wealth for security?
