The Famished Road by Ben Okri

My professor would like for me to write a 1200 word essay, with a topic of our choice. i prefer to expand on the idea of magical realism shown throughout the text. If you could please add on to what i have so far.

Nigerian Author Ben Okri explores the ideas of magical realism in his novel "The Famished Road." Okri uses the main character Arazo an abiku child to address the coexistent elements of Nigeria's real and spiritual life experiences. As readers navigate their way through the book, they will notice how Okri create a big world within a small village. I would like to focus on the Arazo character and the choices he made and the importance of being part of the real world and denying his inevitable calling.
