Symbolic Logic Exam
- Translating compound propositions into symbolic form (using propositional logic)
- Assessing the truth value of a compound proposition when you know the truth values of its simple propositions
- Testing statements for logical equivalence, contradiction, consistency and inconsistency (hence you'll need to build out full truth tables)
- Determining if propositions are tautologous, self-contradictory, or contingent (hence you'll need to build out full truth tables)
- Determining whether arguments are valid or invalid (you are welcome to use full truth tables, the indirect method, or if applicable recognition of valid/invalid argument forms for your answers)
- Determining whether propositions are consistent or inconsistent (you are welcome to use full truth tables or the indirect method to do this)
