South  West Airlines is an airline company located in Dallas Texas state in  the USA. The airline is the largest according to the number of  passengers carried each year in the United States compared to other  airliners. The company is highly regarded for its innovative management  style, its people management practice has contributed to its stable  performance. 

The  mission statement of the company is “we are committed to provide our  employees with stable work environment with equal opportunity for  learning and personal growth.” This shows that the company has great  commitment to its employees and recognizes the efforts the employees  make in providing service to customers that generally gives the company  operational efficiency. This imparts loyalty and respect of employees  towards the company and in the long run, success is assured. 

The  company has a unique way of hiring employees by identifying people with  the right attitude who will add value to the company. Correct way of  hiring employees has a great consequence. This increases the company’s  effectiveness because getting the right people to work will reduce  errors, boost sales, minimize supervision and result to increased sales.  This  human resource strategy used by the company was aimed at creating a  Southwest spirit culture among customers and employees.  This enabled  employee use common sense to carry out their daily duties, making them  responsible and ensuring effective work flow.
