Watch a movie of your choice.  

   Watch the movie critically so that you can answer the

   following questions.

   Refer to the information below if you are unsure about any terms.

1. What is the title of the movie?
2. What is the general setting of this movie?
3. What time period is the movie/story is set in? (Do not give the date the movie was made).
4. What is the name of the main character in the movie/story? (Do not give the actor's name).
5. What occupation does the main character have?
6. The mantra of story telling and description is "Show don't Tell."  List at least two ways the movie shows you and gives you key information about the personality or abilities of the main character. Give specific instances and describe the scenes. 
7. What is the Inciting Incident: What happens that starts the whole story?
8. What is the Main Character’s Super Objective: What does he or she need, want, or have to do as a result of the Inciting Incident?
9. List all the obstacles the main character encounters and indicate if each one is Internal or External?
10. What drives the main character to keep going despite the obstacles they encounter?
    
11. Where in the story is the turning point? Describe what happens.
12. What is the ending incident in the movie--describe the scene that wraps up the story--does this scene tie back into anything that happened at the beginning of the movie?
13. Does the main character come to any realizations or gain any new insights as a result of his or her struggles and pursuit of their super objective.
14. What Universal Themes can be applied to this movie?
