• Description
• In this last formal speech, you will identify a person who has made a significant impact on your life.  This must be someone you know personally.   This can be a person who is now deceased (such as a grandparent).   You will create an formal award for this person.  Then, you will write and deliver a  3-minute speech about this individual that explains who this person is and the impact s/he has in your life.    You should plan to share your presentation outline and award certificate with this person at the end of the course.

• SPCH1311 Course Objective VI: Organizing and presenting effective formal speeches. 
  Learning Objective: To apply knowledge of celebratory speaking by writing and presenting and Award Speech honoring someone who has made a significant contribution or impact on your life.  You will persuade your audience that your awardee is deserving of the award you are bestowing upon him/her with a full explanation of this person's accomplishments and personal characteristics.

   Step 2:  Post the person you want to recognize and the name of your award to the discussion board.    You must receive approval from Dr. Dean before writing your Award speech.

Please choose one of the following award certificates for the Awards Ceremony Speech. You will need to fill-in the text in the certificate template of your choice. You can edit the text fields and some templates allow you to add an image. Be careful editing the certificate content. You want your award certificate to look professional for you award recipient!

Review Instructions for using PPT templates to build your presentation. 

1. Download the PPT template below to your local computer. Be sure to remember where you saved the file. If you cannot find the file, check your "Downloads" folder on your local computer.

2. Open Microsoft PowerPoint on your computer and go to "File" then choose "New From Template"

3. Choose "Open" to find the Certificate template you choice and double click on the file to open it. 

4. Edit the PowerPoint template with your text and content for the Award Certificate.

5. To save the edits and award certificate, choose "Save As" and then change the File Format option to "PowerPoint Presentation.pptx" Remember to save your file to a location where you can find the file easily such as the "Desktop."
