Response to Joyce's "The Dead"

These are one-page analysis assignments that test your ability to closely read a text.  These are not formal essays, but informal, though still exact, investigations of a short story, essay, or poem’s main ideas and literary conventions.  Feel free to be as creative as you want to be–for example, you can bring in scripture, a movie, or life moment to compare and contrast with an element in the text–as long as you focus on specifics in the work of literature.  

Do not be vague.  Each response should be between 250-300 words.  Format these responses in MLA.
