News Release:

As we learned this week, the creation and distribution of a proper news release are critical elements to drive fruitful media relations and to inform the media of any opportunities for publicity. For this assignment, you will create your own news release for Rock Pic School.

Tasks:

Your job is to create an interesting news release describing how Rock Pic School is now open to out-of-state residents. Your release should be confined strictly to the facts and include the following elements:

• Contact information
• Headline
• Short summary
• Location and date stamp
• Lead
• Body
• End

The release must include at least one quote (this can be from a fictional principal or head of the school).

Deliverable:

• Write your news release and discussion submission in 250–300 words.
• Use proper MLA formatting.
