Knowledge and opinions regarding various disorders (both childhood and late life disorders) are heavily influenced by media representations of the disorders. Television, special report presentations, movies, and documentaries present various disorders as topics of examination, the focus of family and personal drama, and even humor. Do you feel mental disorders are an appropriate topic for media attention or for entertainment? Are there limits on how far dramatic or humorous presentations should go?
