Week 2 Project: Homeland Security Recommendations I

Scenario: You have been hired to advise a candidate for the U.S. Senate. The candidate wants to be brought up to speed on the current state of homeland security compared to the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of 8–10 slides that addresses the following points:

• Provide an overview of the 9/11 Commission and the commission’s report.
• Highlight and explain the three recommendations you consider to be most important. Do not select the issue of “visa overstays” here.
• Describe the current state of the three recommendations you have identified as important. Have the Commission’s suggestions been implemented?
• Explain the issue of “visa overstays.” Show how this vulnerability was exploited by several of the 9/11 terrorists. Assess whether the problem has been solved.
