Describe how parties exist in the electorate and its relevance to election outcomes.  In your discussion, include examples of which groups are more likely associated with each party. How has identification with parties evolved over time and how do you think it will continue to evolve (and why)?  What implications do you think will this evolution have on future elections and why?
