Operational Responses to Organizational Change
An old truism is that change is a constant, and this is certainly applicable not only to the health care industry, but to most modern institutions. Every industry and every organization has experienced change at some level, whether impelled by an internal drive for change or in response to an external event. The effectiveness of an adaptive change depends in part on the effectiveness of the operational and communication systems within an organization.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Identify one example of an event that has changed the operations of your organization or an organization with which you are familiar. If you are not currently working in a health care organization (HCO), you may choose a case study from a reliable source from which to work.
Post a cohesive response to the following:
Describe the organization you have chosen in terms of its industry; number of employees; and whether it is a local, regional, national, or international enterprise. How was the event which changed operations in this organization assessed and managed? Was this change addressed and communicated throughout the organization? Was that communication effective? Justify your conclusion.
Support your response by identifying and explaining key points and/or examples presented in the Learning Resources.
