Final Paper (25%) –  a paper, 8-10 pages in length . Students will (1) respond to feedback on the rough draft and (2) research
secondary source literature to incorporate into their paper. In order to receive a satisfactory
grade, students must defend a clear thesis statement, demonstrate adequate understanding of the
relevant philosophical texts and issues, make use of sustained logical argumentation and critical
evaluation, and specifically reference philosophers and readings appropriate to the topic. A
thorough explanation of the instructor's expectations for the assignment will be given in advance.
