Adopting technology is inevitable and constantly improving. Write a report that addresses the following:

• Think about where nursing informatics will be 5 years from now. Summarize your findings and add any ideas you have based on your experience as a nurse.
• Research and explain how Meaningful Use guidelines are affecting electronic documentation processes in the acute care setting.
• What phase of Meaningful Use is your current employer in?  What evidence supports your decision? If you’re not currently employed, what phase is your personal physician in, and what evidence brings you to this decision? Incorporate at least 2 resources on Meaningful Use for this part.

Ensure your report cites at least 4 peer-reviewed references published within the past 5 years.

Additional information:

My practice background is mainly in medical-surgical cardiac nursing unit and 2 years in an outpatient clinic at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. My facility uses electronic medical records for order entry, medication orders, and patient information from patient allergies to patient demographics.
