Imagine checking the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, buying a two-liter bottle of soda, driving a distance measured in miles, and measuring something in your physics lab using centimeters—all in the same day. In the United States, we regularly move between the metric system and U.S. customary system, often called the English system.
For this discussion, take a closer look at how these systems affect everyday life, science, and the decisions we make.
