In this essay, you will need to make an argument explaining whether you think Reconstruction was a successor a failure.  You will need to define what you mean by each of these terms. In your argument, you can say that some aspects of Reconstruction were a success while others were not.  However, in the end you must give an overall answer to this important question.  In addition, you are also required to make an assessment of how well you think that Hollywood has presented that argument to the American public.
