CRITERIA for grading

1. Organization & Development

The student does an excellent job organizing each response to demonstrate an understanding of the topic. Paragraph transitions and transitional tools are present. Logical and flow is maintained throughout the response. Support for the central idea is achieved through concrete details consistency of the topic (do not deviate from the central idea). The student follows the outline as prescribed in the instructions and rubrics.

2.  Documentation & Formatting

Students refer to the APA style as to format the paper (e.g., front page, Table of Contents, double space, Times Roman 12 pts., etc.). Each section must be referenced with one of the textbooks of the class and at least three additional scientific articles from journals (no substitutes will be acceptable). The paper reports citations using APA the APA style (within the body of the paper and on a separate reference list. The paper includes a page of references in alphabetical order. The level of similarity cannot be more than 20%.

3.  Content Development

The student demonstrates a clear understanding of how the organization operates as part of an open system in each of the areas of study. The student demonstrates an understanding of how the course concepts apply to the organization. The analysis presents not only the definitions from the textbook, but also a practical application of the concept through specific examples, actions, and organizational activities. The recommendations are aligned with the current best practice as presented in the textbooks and articles from journals.

4. Writing & Style

The distinctive voices of the different contributors are unified by the consistent use of business terms. The tone is consistent and appropriate for the subject, audience, and purpose (e.g., using third person narrative, avoiding contractions). Avoid colloquialisms and idiomatic expressions (do not write as you speak). The diction is lively and characterized by active verbs and effective descriptive devices, without introducing idioms or colloquialisms. Grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are firmly in the writer's control. Mechanical elements are handled consistently and appropriately.
