For this assignment, you will be writing a five-paragraph critical analysis.  Your focus will be on Sappho's poems and fragments.  You will identify the specific genre and it's connection to the main theme of Sappho's poems and fragments.  You may choose any three poems to support this assignment.  You will cite throughout the essay.

Please understand that the critical analysis is really an essay and takes on the essay structure of introduction with thesis, body, and conclusion.

Please also understand that this is NOT a research assignment.  All analysis of the poems and fragments must come from you.
