1. According to Roudakova’s chapter, what happened to journalism in Russia after 1991?
2. What is tabloidization and do you think that there is an ongoing process of tabloidization of media? Is tabloidization something one should be concerned with? Why or why not?
3. What is Populism? What is Media Populism? Feel free to provide examples as you explain the two concepts.
4. What are some of the criticisms that Morozov raises against those who believe that social media themselves are the main drivers of revolution and regime change? Do you think that social media and new technologies help the democratization of authoritarian regimes?
