Hypothesis testing enables researchers to test the validity of an opinion or claim by using sample data. An example would be that during a criminal jury trial the judicial system uses, based on evaluating evidence, a decision process that assumes innocence unless there is evidence to prove guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. 1. Summarize the five steps in hypothesis testing.
2. In your discussion, outline and evaluate the difference between “type I” and “type II errors.
3. Present a way to improve decision outcome by reducing the errors mentioned in the previous step.
