Household codes in the new testament
You will write a concise informative article about "household codes in the new testament with emphasis to the husband and wife. I want you to be able to communicate clear, accurate facts about a topic as studied in the history of Christianity. This is expository writing, the type of writing that you find in journalism and encyclopedia articles.
Your own research and your work with the topic will determine what is important. You are not arguing a point, presenting a new analysis, or offering a three-point mini-sermon: the purpose of a product like this is to introduce, inform and educate, not to persuade or exhort. I cannot tell you what to put in your article, although the journalistic 5 Ws (and 1 H) are good starters (Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?)
Instructions
- Your article must be roughly 750 words.
- You may only quote primary sources in your article, and not secondary sources. (You can quote Plato, not what Dr. Smith says about Plato.) Do not quote anything unless absolutely necessary.
- Because this requires you to do research into a topic, I expect you to provide a basic (non-annotated) bibliography of sources you have consulted. to accompany your article. (Some of these resources may end up on your Annotated Bibliography, but if you use resources that are not on the Annotated Bibliography, include them here.)
I have offered links to helpful resources about writing this material, and attached a sample encyclopedia article on Boethius. (If you want more samples, look at the various articles I frequently assign.)
