Assignment 5: Literacy Autobiography Rough Draft

Literacy Autobiography Rough Draft (Step 3 of 4 for your Literacy Autobiography assignment)

Remember, this is  Step 3 in the process of writing your Literacy Autobiography.

No new template this week.  Continue to use the same document from last time.

For this assignment, you will use your instructor’s feedback and your knowledge of storytelling and the writing process to  revise what you  generated for  Assignment 4 - Introduction and Body Drafting. Then, you will  generate a conclusion and place it after your body paragraphs.

Keep working on the same document as the last one. This assignment will act as the rough draft of your full Literacy Autobiography.

Remember: the writing process started with  generating (Assignment 3 – Summary & Generating Messy Writing Freewrite) and  organization (Assignment 4: Introduction and Body Drafting). Use your instructor feedback from these assignments and incorporate any changes that might be effective now. Check to ensure you completed everything you needed in the APA template.

This "shitty first draft" is not graded on the quality of your work but is instead evaluated upon:

· An attempt at all five paragraphs

· An introduction with an attempted thesis

· Three body paragraphs, written in chronological order (in the order they occurred)

· A conclusion

· Utilization of the writing process by showing growth from Assignment 3 – Summary & Generating Messy Writing Freewrite and Assignment 4: Introduction and Body Drafting).

· Use the work you  generated and  organized into Assignment 4 - Introduction and Body Drafting (including reviewing the template you used for that assignment if necessary).

And just in case it helps to see it this way, this essay follows the structure below:

· Title Page

· Intro

· Summary of Student Example

· Thesis

· Body Paragraph 1 (Beginning of Story)

· P (Point sentence)

· I (Illustration)

· E (Explanation)

· Body Paragraph 2 (Middle of Story)

· I (Illustration)

· E (Explanation)

· Body Paragraph 3 (End of Story)

· P (Point sentence)

· I (Illustration)

· E (Explanation)

· Conclusion

·

· Summary

·

· Action step for you/your reader
