It is impractical to consider conducting research utilizing a full population, but a sample selected using established sampling techniques can provide statistically valid results. Chapter 10 reviews the pathways and relationships from population to sampling unit.
Chapter 11, "Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Descriptive Analysis"
Statistics can be used to express concepts and relationships. Chapter 11 explores descriptive statistical analysis in terms of measures of center tendency and spread, as well as standard measures and measures of relationships.
Chapter 12, "Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Inferential Analysis"
Inferential statistical analysis is used to make an educated statistical guess that can be transferred from a small sample to larger population. Chapter 12 presents procedures such as the estimation of parameters and hypothesis testing.
