Art Review Content:

1. Choose an art piece (film, literature, poetry, music or dance/performance) that focuses on Pacific Islander culture.  Be sure you are writing the correct one for each assignment.
2. Brief summary and generalized description of the art piece.
3. Critique and analysis of specific aspects of the art piece. What are some significant or important themes and issues that are raised/covered? Did this piece have historical significance with regard to place, imagery, characterization, and prose/performance?
4. An assessment of the work’s relevance to Pacific Islander culture.
5. Your recommendation to the reader.
6. A link to a site which provides further information about the art piece you chose and other important information that will enhance your review.  This can also include the actual performance if you found one online.

All Art Reviews must be written in TIMES NEW ROMAN FONT, 12 pt., double- spaced with one-inch margins all around.  Your name must be at the top of the page.  You will be required to write TWO full pages for full credit.  If you go over two pages, that’s fine.  You must also provide a minimum of TWO examples from your course materials and cite those that you use for your art review and how they relate to the themes of the course (be specific).  Cite your sources correctly.
