Demonstrate the importance of the Field Training Officer (FTO) in law enforcement.  The relationship of the new recruit with the agency, and how this may influence the officer throughout the next 20 years of their career. Give examples of how a bad role model can influence the career of a new officer, and of how a good role model can influence the career of a new officer.
