Apple Inc. and Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, have had a long term supply chain relationship spanning many years. Foxconn makes all of Apple’s iPhones to specifications. Their relationship has been bumpy at times but has lasted many years, as each party has been able to get what they want.

Do a little research on Apple and Foxconn, then answer the following:

1. What is Apple’s strategy?
2. Describe how Apple handles operations and innovation? What does Apple’s supply chain look like?
3. How does Apple control its suppliers? How does Apple extend its reach at its retail stores?
4. What is Foxconn’s strategy? How does Apple’s strategy compare to that of Foxconn?
5. What do you think makes the relationship between Apple and Foxconn work?
