This is nothing new.  Since the beginnings of mass production, workers have found themselves competing with new forms of more efficient machinery.  This new machinery increases production (helping consumers), but hurts workers.  In the 1920s, new machinery replaced and eliminated skilled workers from entire industries.  We are still all progressing in the long march towards more efficiency in the workplace.  I would have never thought that I would be teaching a class without directly meeting any of the students.  

Assignment:

For this assignment, after a brief introduction, write a paragraph detailing what you are studying and how this occupation will by affected by Artificial Intelligence and changes within the industry over the next twenty years.  What changes will be expected of you as you prepare to enter the workplace?

After this paragraph, describe the challenges to the greater workplace and possible solutions.  Is the move towards Artificial Intelligence a legitimate threat, or is this a simple continuation of the concerns that have existed since the first factory? 

Everything is online, and everything is available through Google.  Please cite your sources at the end of the paper.  This paper needs to be double spaced, using Times New Roman 12 point.  The length needs to be 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pages.
