There is much recent debate about the increased use of trigger warnings, particularly at universities. Some authors support their use while others oppose using them, and the authors cite many reasons for their positions, relating to the history, purpose and effectiveness of trigger warnings. When, where, and under what circumstances are trigger warnings effective and appropriate? Write an essay that argues for or against their use, supporting your argument with evidence from two readings listed below.
