Asking for a raise

You are asking for a raise. Consider your audience to be your supervisor. Prepare a 2-4 min speech on how you would ask for a raise. Prepare statistics and facts.

Consider: 

· your knowledge of the job to present why you merit the raise. 

• your speaking notes (key words on a note card - do NOT read)  

• an outline to give to me before you speak so that I have something to follow along while listening and writing notes.

Be sure to have statistics and data to support the ask.
