I'm  concerned that your question is overly broad. You list several coaching  components which would be very hard to measure. Asking "how" obligates  you to examine the processes at work rather than whether your approach  is more successful, or perhaps more positive. 

Why not compare  athlete beliefs about coaching by transformative vs. transactional  coaches? Or, instead of asking "how" why not just measure the beliefs of  athletes who are coached in the manner you believe is best?
