This assignment has to two parts. Doing one part will only get you a lower grade. Writing Assignment 1- This week's writing assignment is intended to expand further on the effects that diversity has on educational settings. Use internet resources for this assignment.

Part 1

In a well written 2-page paper select at least one aspect of diversity from this week's module and relate how it influences American education today. 

Provide clear examples of how/where we can see the impact. This may include current events, legislation, curriculum, etc.

Grading Criteria

1. Length requirement is met (10 points)

2. Description of a current event with the proper citation: 20 points

3. Example and clear description of the relationship of event to Diversity in Education: 20 points

4. Example and clear description of the impact on education: 20 points

5. Concluding Reflection: 20 points

6. College-level Writing: 10 points (-1 for each error)

Part II

1. Discuss some of the protocols in place to help ensure that you would demonstrate ethical behavior when conducting an observation.

2. Describe your life experiences with observing and note taking. Specifically, discuss areas that were challenging and successful.

3. In the near future how do you think you may address the challenges more effectively? As you respond to classmates, share suggestions for addressing challenges.

Specifications

For a satisfactory score, your initial responses should include specific support from course materials, including any readings, videos, or lecture narratives, your own experiences, or other sources as detailed in the assignment instructions. An appropriate opening response should consider experiences in observations and methods of documenting observations.
