Discussion: Writing Engaging Discussion Questions

As you learned this week, effective discussion questions inspire a thoughtful, analytical response and leave enough room for all students to participate and demonstrate their knowledge. Reflect on the discussions you have experienced either as a student or instructor in the online environment. What characteristics of the discussion created meaningful opportunities for learning?
For this week's Discussion, you will develop a learning objective based on this week's readings in Chapters 23, 25, or 27 of the course text. You will then write a discussion question designed to assess students' understanding of the concept. The question should actively involve all students in the discussion and encourage rigorous discussion or debate.
