Being on the ketogenic diet has afforded me the opportunity to broaden my horizons as it pertains to ingredients used and how recipes come together for my meals at home. A weekly staple we use in my house is the fathead dough pizza recipe. In this recipe, it requires only four ingredients and roughly 20 to 30 minutes to make, depending on how crispy you want the crust to be. This recipe not only has clear and concise instructions, but it also gives the nutrition facts to see what your portion sizes will need to be, including a calculator in order to adjust the portion sizes as necessary to cater to your specific goals and a conversion calculator for switching between U.S. standard and the metric system. With the nutrition facts embedded into the recipe it gives the person making the pizza the ability to portion out their macro-nutrients to ensure they are staying within their guidelines, which on the ketogenic diet it is imperative to watch closely to not over do your carbohydrates, while ensuring your fats are the correct amount so you can remain in ketosis to reach your given health goal. A few changes I would suggest are, instead of using all mozzarella cheese, substitute a 1/3 cup of cheddar cheese to give the crust more of a savory/firm flavor/texture versus just mozzarella.  The other change I would like to add is a section for the option to add buffalo sauce versus traditional pizza sauce to make a spicy pizza while keeping the carbohydrates lower since some pizza sauces can be very high in sugar/carbohydrates.
