One of the latest trends in the development of internet technologies is the inclusion of artificial intelligence or chatbots. Approximately 10,000 companies are using bots on their websites including H&M, Sephora, and Hilfiger (Reed, A., 2018). A chatbot can help people complete tasks through natural language learning. It is almost impossible for companies to personally deal with every issue user may have while using their websites. Employing a machine, or computer program, to aid with costumer issues can reduce the amount of time current employees spend doing just that. Personally, I have not had great experiences with chatbots. Typically, their responses seem to be too scripted and they do not always solve my problems. However, I do understand why more and more companies are choosing to use them. I think that as this technology progresses and artificial intelligence programs improve user experiences will become better in the future.

Another developing trend is the use of mobile devices to access web pages. Web pages designed to operate on desktop web browsers tend to be less responsive when accessing them from a mobile device. Google recognized this and decided to pursue a project known as Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) (Google AMP, 2018). AMP is an open source framework for users to create web pages that load near instantly on any web browser. The framework builds on the knowledge that people already have for building websites. Building an AMP website is currently the best way to ensure the fastest speeds of your website on mobile devices.
