“The strongest force of nature is the strength of the human spirit.” Force of Nature Aid Foundation. The report critiques the notion of resilience as an endpoint, and suggests that resiliency are points or milestones on a journey to achieving transformative capacities in recovery from the shock of wars, civil strife, and disasters. Resilience is a process that aims to improve well-being.
Question: In this context of vulnerability and disaster, how would you conceptualize resilience of an individual, group, or community? Is resilience an achievable possibility or an abstract notion?
