In Colorado, we have a somewhat unique history in terms of school violence in that the shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton was the first of what has become, sadly, a much more common occurrence. But even living outside of Colorado, and not near any particular school where a shooting has happened, people have a heightened sense of fear about such violence occurring at their local school. 

What has your experience been? What have you seen, heard, or felt about school violence, especially as it has become more common lately? Take a look back at Chapter 13 in the Hawdon reader. Take a few minutes to comment on how your community may have changed in psychological, sociological, and/or cultural ways because of America's heightened fear of such events.
