Death Row and other forms of isolation are highly-segregated sections of a prison and are extremely expensive, even by prison standards, to operate. Studies have shown that such segregation can be physically and mentally harmful to those inmates and that they are generally no more dangerous to themselves and the overall prison population than any other inmates. Explain with specificity and example why or why not prisons should maintain isolation and highly-segregated sections as permanent housing.
