The micro-skill of logical consequences encourages clients to develop critical thinking skills. The use of logical consequences involves exploring with the client “what will happen if” they make specific choices. This advanced “influencing” skill can be used effectively only when the counselor understands the world of the client through listening with ears, mind, and heart.
