Companies that don't follow this typically fail in some way or another. Think of the examples of companies that were once on top and had the opportunity to be continuously successful but it failed. We can find a lot of those in the retail environment such as Sears and Kmart, in the technology world Digital Equipment Corporation, Wang Corporation and others. Can you think of a American Company that has gone under due to the lack of continual process improvement?
