Composer's Report for Music Appreciation course

For the assignment on composers, students will write a report with a minimum of 300 words.

This report requires that the student select his or her favorite composer from the list below:

• Bach
• Brahms
• Corelli
• Haydn
• Mendelssohn
• Purcell
• Schubert
• Tchaikowsky
• Vivaldi
• Wagner

When writing the report, be sure you address the following questions:

• Why did you select this composer from among all the rest?
• What are the musical contributions this composer made towards the development of the music during his lifetime?
• Describe the personality of the composer and how that may have influenced his musical writing.

I encourage students do research on their selected composer in order to get ideas for their reports. All reports must be original works!

Do not quote any source or anybody’s thoughts. Quotes are not permitted in this Instruments Report. I am interested in your own personal thoughts, opinions, and the material you have learned from your research.
