Below are 2 examples of how to assemble a desk.
Compare and contrast them using the following questions:
- Who is the audience for these instructions? Who would buy this type of desk? What will it be used for?
- What type of design do the instructions follow? Are they simplistic or highly detailed?
- What type of language is used? Simple, complex, informal, formal? Do they use an imperative (command) sentence structure?
- How are the visuals presented? Are they suggestive or highly detailed? Illustrated or photographs?
- Which would you find the easiest and most enjoyable to follow? Explain why.
