This is a two-part task. Dust off your internet skills.

This week we are exploring aspects of the job search for which you will be using your e-Portfolio. Having prepared your resume and career plan:

1. Video or Podcast Recommendation: Numerous Podcasts and Videos are broadcast on the Web with advice for career planning, career change, job search, interviewing, etc. Search the Web and find either a Podcast or Video  no older than 1 year   that you recommend to your classmates as a valuable resource. Do NOT select a source already cited in this course! It needs to be something new that you find, review and recommend as a good resource.  In your initial post  briefly summarize the Podcast or Video you chose, with its citation, why you like it, and the hyperlink to it.

2. Job Posting Search: Next, please conduct an online career search for a post-graduate job or other position of interest that fits your career plan (whether soon or farther in the future). If you have nothing in mind at the moment, search for a fit for a hypothetical "dream job."  In your initial post : (a) share  at least one job posting from your search here in the Discussion, including a hyperlink. Explain  in your post: how you went about your search (e.g. databases you used, key search terms, etc.); and how this job position aligns with your career plan that you posted in last week's discussion (or the "dream job").

Week 3 Assignment - Resume Peer Review

In Week 1 you prepared your resume using Hiration and received feedback from your instructor. This week’s assignment is providing a peer review of a classmate’s resume from the perspective of a potential employer. The Week 3 eReserve Reading at Indeed.com,  Resume Critique: Definition and Tips [web article] will assist you in preparing this Assignment. Also explore other research of your own.

Directions

For this assignment complete the following steps (also review the Grading Rubric):

1. If you have not already done so, immediately upload your own finalized Week 1 resume to your Group Locker folder.

2. Your instructor will assign you a classmate’s resume to review for this assignment. When you receive the assignment, download your classmate’s resume from their Group Locker folder.

3. Create criteria  using the attached Word template. This is  a review checklist  or table of  five criteria that you will use to prepare your peer review of your classmate's resume.

· Your criteria must integrate the following and must be  constructive, objective, and relevant for reviewing a resume. Include a  References page on this Peer Review of  at least 2 research sources you utilized in creating your checklist. (One might be the above Indeed.com source, for example.) 

· TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS -

· Download the template. It will be "read only." Save it as a new document with your name (e.g. JDoeResume Review).

· The template lays out the structure for your  Peer Review including headings. "INSTRUCTIONS" in grayed text tell you what to write in each section.

· PLEASE DO NOT KEEP THE GRAY SHADED INSTRUCTIONS IN YOUR FINAL PAPER! These are to be replaced with your own text providing the required information.

· Guidance: Be a mentor. Review your assigned classmate's resume based on the criteria you created.

· Your tone should be collegial and sensitive, but provide constructive, relevant feedback, i.e. pros and cons.

· Simply saying “nice job,” “great resume,” etc. is not a review and is not constructive.

· Explain both what is effective and why, and what could be improved and why. Refer to the criteria you chose for your review.

· Consider what you hope to see as feedback on the review of your resume.

4. Access the Group Locker and upload a copy of your completed Peer Review to your  classmate’s folder.

5. Submit another copy of your Peer Review  to this Assignment for grading AND a copy of the peer's resume you reviewed.
