In your business plan, you choose a healthcare-related business idea, such as

• a clinic
• a home care agency
• an adult day care center
• a healthcare IT or management consulting firm
• a medical supply store
• any other healthcare business approved by your instructor

This capstone project will demonstrate your ability to think like a healthcare leader, strategist, or entrepreneur.

In your final presentation,

• Describe the mission, vision, services or products, stakeholders, and your target customers. 
• Analyze the competitive environment of your business.
  • Be sure to address social, legal, regulatory, economic, and technological considerations.
  • Be sure to include major competitors.
• Identify local, state, and federal regulations or other ethical concerns relevant to your business. 
• Develop marketing strategies to attract customers and promote your services or products.
• Create a human resources plan with projected key staff positions for the first year of your business. 
  • Be sure to articulate the number of each position and the employment status, such as part-time or full-time.
• Propose a 1-year budget plan with an estimate of how much money will be required to establish your new business.
  • Justify how you will finance your venture.
  • Be sure to include the startup costs (one-time expenses) and the first-year expenses in categories.
